Innovators, artists and superheroes: CES 2017 in review

CES 2017 is over, and we’ll definitely miss its exciting mix of groundbreaking tech ideas, fresh-to-market innovations and Las Vegas-style showmanship. We had an incredible time at this year’s convention, and celebrated some big wins for Dell. Here are a couple highlights:

The lead star and creators of the much-awaited new ‘Spider-Man Homecoming’ movie visited the #DellExperience lounge.  Young actor Tom Holland discussed the processing power of Dell’s laptops and our current STEM initiatives, including the Science Leadership Academy, while Sony’s Erik Strauss explained how Dell technology powers the studio’s post-production magic. According to Strauss, “For a movie like ‘Spider-Man’ there’s only so much you can capture on set. That’s why Dell Precision workstations are our primary workstation for a team of almost a thousand artists.”

The Dell Canvas made a major splash at this year’s CES, wowing storytellers and engineers from around the world with its immersive and intuitive design. We’re honored that PC Magazine called the Canvas a “cool, natural evolution of the artist’s workspace” and awarded it ‘Best Display’ at CES 2017.

Avid CEO, Louis Hernandez, Jr. was also very complimentary, telling a CES audience that the Canvas is “an incredible device to help storytellers capture a more powerful story in a more intuitive way. It takes away the limitations, allowing you to express yourself more intuitively.”

Congratulations to the nominees and winners of the CES awards. Check out more amazing moments from our CES experience below.
